Rachel Lane is a Criminal Defense Investigator with our office; she conducts case investigation and keeps an eye out for anyone needing help around the office. Rachel earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 2019. Her degree focus is in Public Relations. She traveled down to Baton Rouge from Shreveport, LA, in pursuit of working toward a better, truly Just society. Rachel has always been a volunteer for various non-profit organizations such as The Salvation Army and Northwest Louisiana Food Bank, because she believes that a community is responsible for helping those who need a helping hand. Previously, Rachel has worked as the Assistant to the Executive Director for the non-profit Children and Arthritis. There, she worked with a determined team to organize an annual camp where families are connected to professionals who advise and guide them in caring for their child with arthritis. Most recently, Rachel interned at Louisiana Budget Project where she studied monetary and ethical gaps in Louisiana’s criminal justice system.
For self-care, Rachel enjoys following true crime podcasts, reading mystery novels, and refurbishing antique furniture. If you want to be on her good side, you’ll come to her office with a fresh mug of medium-roast coffee.
A favorite quote from Eleanor Roosevelt:
“It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.”
Let’s work at it.
